The dream summer for Noah Rubin keeps getting better. After winning the boys’ singles titles at Wimbledon last month, he has earned a wild card into the main draw of this year’s US Open by winning the USTA Boys’ 18s National Championship on Sunday in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Rubin prevailed in the final over defending champion Collin Altamirano, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3. The New York native will also be appearing in the men’s doubles event at the US Open after winning the doubles title in Kalamazoo with Stefan Kozlov, whom he defeated in the junior Wimbledon final.

Rubin became just the second American boy since 1994 to capture a junior singles title at Wimbledon. He has played primarily in pro events in 2014, reaching two ITF Pro Circuit finals and achieving a current world ranking of No. 588. Rubin competed in the men's singles qualifying draw at last year's US Open. He will also compete in this year’s US Open Junior Championships.

Despite all of their success on the junior circuit, both Rubin and Altamirano have opted to play college tennis next year. Rubin will head to Wake Forest University in the fall, while Altamirano will play for the University of Virginia.

In the USTA Boys' 16s, Cincinnati’s John McNally, a U.S. Junior Davis Cup team member, added to his 16s National Clay Court title by sweeping last week’s 16s singles and doubles championships, beating Connor Hance, of Torrance, Calif., 6-4, 6-4, for the singles title and pairing with Gianni Ross, of Burr Ridge, Ill., to win the doubles championship.
