Chief Executive Officer, USTA Foundation

The NY-based Chief Executive Officer (CEO) leads all aspects of the Foundation including strategic vision, financial planning, delivery, operations, staff supervision, and board development to provide the programming and fundraising success necessary to achieve the Foundation’s mission and short and long-term goals. The CEO works closely with the USTA’s Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive of Community Tennis, and 50 Board of Directors and Advisory Members to achieve measurable outcomes and build a culture of philanthropy within the USTA, USTA Foundation, and the tennis community at large. 

 

Candidate Profile

In terms of the performance and personal competencies required for the position, we would highlight the following:

  • Advanced degree or significant experience of Executive Director-level or senior management experience,

  • Relevant not-for-profit experience.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a layered and multi-constituent organization.

  • Proven track record in fundraising:  fund drives, capital campaigns, major gifts, stewardship, and grant award programs.  

  • Deep-rooted fundraising relationships with a non-profit institution.

  • Proven track record in programming and evaluation:  program development, metrics and outcomes, curriculum, grant disbursements, and grassroots leadership and community engagement. Deep-rooted program relationships with a non-profit institution.

  • Demonstrated creativity with a keen sense of business and financial acumen.

  • Success-oriented and a high degree of flexibility to manage multiple priorities efficiently and effectively.

  • Interpersonally: Professional sophistication, organizational skills, and personal charisma that command respect, credibility, and inspiration with colleagues, board members, volunteers, national and regional corporations, foundations, and individual donors.

 

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this role is $300,000 to $325,000, with a 25% bonus opportunity at target. This salary range represents USTA's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base salary range at the time of posting and is one part of the total rewards USTA provides to employees.

Managing Director, Communications and Content

The USTA has engaged Diversified Search Group to conduct a search for a Managing Director, Communications and Content.

 

Overview

The Managing Director of Communications and Content, will oversee the development and execution of strategic communications plans across all media channels (digital, print, broadcast, and social) for all USTA initiatives and priorities and be the focal point to tell the story of tennis on a national basis beyond the US Open. This candidate will not only lead public relations and strategic communications, but also will oversee all content development for the Association, inclusive of social media, editorial, publishing, graphics and video services. S/he will also lead all communications efforts for the US Open including overall responsibility for US Open Media Operations. The position will have wider responsibility for overseeing the USTA’s internal and external communications strategy and marketing shared services.

The expected range for the base salary for this position is $292,000 to $356,000/yr with a 25% bonus opportunity at target.  This range does not include any additional pay or benefits for which a person may qualify.  The actual base salary offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, the years of relevant experience, their unique skills, and the location from which they will be performing the job.
