Diversity & Inclusion Internship Programs:
The Diversity & Inclusion department sponsors an annual internship program at the USTA Headquarters in White Plains, N.Y., the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. and the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The program has two components: an undergraduate program which targets rising college juniors and seniors, and a graduate program for first year MBAs. Both elements offer an eight-week summer immersion that includes hands-on experience, opportunities for professional growth and the chance to contribute to the mission of the USTA in a significant way.
For the undergraduate program, beyond their day-to-day work experience, interns attend weekly Lunch & Learn workshops focusing on professional development, including topics such as Difficult Interactions, Workplace Communication Skills and Creative Problem Solving. They also work together on a collaborative group project on a specific topic relevant to the USTA’s current business – affording them to take what they have learned in their individual departments and applying it in a larger context. The graduate interns work on analytic projects of vital significance to a current work challenge, so they have the opportunity to impact USTA’s success in real time.
