USTA Connecticut Board of Directors  2021-2023

The Nominating Committee of USTA  Connecticut invites you to submit an application for its Board and/or officer positions. The Nominating Committee consists of Bob Dunlop, Chair, Amy Read, and Peter Parrotta.

There are 15 Directors on the Board, which includes a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and the Immediate Past President. The term of service is three years and begins on January 1, 2021. Deadline for submission is June 15, 2020. All applications must be submitted electronically. Directors must be USTA members and domiciled in Connecticut.

Following a review of all applicants, interviews will be conducted by phone and/or in person. The proposed slate will be decided by August 10 and all candidates will be notified. Final decision on the slate will be decided by October 15.

The Nominating Committee will be looking for Directors who can fulfill the Mission Statement which is to inspire, promote, and develop the growth of tennis in Connecticut. Successful candidates should have substantial tennis related experience. Nonprofit Board experience, past service on Board committees, and  ability to lead and contribute as a member of a team are important. We will be looking for skills and qualities which are balanced and complementary.

The Board meets 3-4 times a year, and regular attendance is expected. Serving on at least one committee is also expected as a large part of the work of USTA Connecticut is performed by the committees.
