The USTA Hawaii Pacific believes in giving back to our local community. We are proud to offer a variety of grants & scholarships to help grow the game of tennis.
Nike Tennis Camp Junior Scholarships
These scholarships provide three (3) Hawaii junior players, ages 8-13, with day scholarship packages to the Nike Tennis Camps hosted by the University of Hawaii every summer. Applicants must not be entering high school this year or currently in high school. For more information, please visit the Nike Tennis Camp website.
Junior Tennis Champions Center Camp Scholarships
These Summer Camp Scholarships provide free (3) of Hawaii’s high-performance junior players a training opportunity with world-class coaching staff and national-level tournament players from around the country at the Junior Tennis Champions Center in College Park, Maryland. Muriel Osborne Hawaii Tennis Award
Muriel Osborne was first ranked #1 in Hawaii in the girls 18 and under division in 1941. She dominated the rankings for the next 40 years in singles, doubles and mixed doubles. ADVERTISEMENT When her children were grown she traveled to the mainland to play in the senior divisions. She won 2 silver balls and earned national rankings with partners Doris Hakman, Lethia Hall and Hattie Somerville. In her memory, the Muriel Osborne Hawaii Women’s Tennis Fund was created to honor past, present and future women tennis players in Hawaii.
Hattie Somerville Scholarship
In memory of Hawaii tennis legend Harriet "Hattie" Somerville, a scholarship program has been erected in her name. Hattie's love for children inspired these youth scholarships. Her activism in the sport throughout her life grew tennis in Hawaii tremendously.
LTC (R) Donald Andrews Scholarship
A scholarship program benefiting Hawaii junior tennis players has been created in memory of Hawaii Tennis Hall of Fame member and retired Army officer Donald Andrews. The scholarships will provide financial assistance to allow participation in national and interisland tennis competitions and are open to all Hawaii junior players, with preference given to military dependents and children of military veterans.
Kahiau Youth Tennis Scholarships
These scholarships provide financial assistance to enable participation in youth tennis programs and events both locally and nationally. Two scholarships are available: the Youth Development Scholarship and Youth Play Scholarship.
Junior Competition District Scholarships
These scholarships offer support to qualified junior competitors who incur travel expenses for junior competition i.e. national competitive play. Each district has a unique application process. Please reach out to each district for more information.
