US Open Ballperson Scholarship has been suspended for 2018

Grant recipients must be available to serve as ball persons from the 1st day of qualifying of the US Open, through Labor Day — approximately two weeks. While working at the US Open, grantees will be compensated by an hourly rate through the USTA and will be provided with a uniform and shoes.

To apply to be a ball person you must be:
     1) At least 16 years old and able to demonstrate the skills necessary
         to do the job;
     2) A current USTA member;
     3) Accompanied by a parent or chaperone to New York.

All applications must be received by the USTA Pacific Northwest Section and applicants must be available for an in-person tryout.

Application will be made available here.  Please call Trenton Corvino at the section office at (503) 520-1877 with any questions or concerns.

After interviews with candidates, the selection committee will determine grant recipients. Submission of an application to be a US Open Ball Person constitutes acknowledgement and acceptance of all rules printed within the application and further constitutes agreement to be bound by the selection committee’s choice(s).
