GRANTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS
USTA Southwest | July 11, 2018
There are an abundance of potential funding opportunities from the United States Tennis Association, reaching from the national office all the way down into the local community you live in. The USTA is a non-profit entity that derives almost all of its' funding from proceeds made from the US Open each year. That money is given back to the local community in a variety of ways and at a variety of levels, national, section and local.
These means of assistance take on many forms - from junior players needing assistance, to school programs looking to get started, to public facilities looking to help rebuild or refurbish their infrastructure, to wide-ranging and diverse populations looking for community support or extra dollars to help out projects and community goals.
Typically, these are all very competitive grants and scholarships, as there are many tennis players and programs looking for assistance, especially here in our area of the Southwest. ADVERTISEMENT Check out a list of areas that offer grants or funding opportunties for your need.

The Section also has a few different funding avenues for potential areas of youth and community development. Check out the areas below, and check for application funding cycles or deadline dates, as they are strictly enforced.
USTA Southwest also has a charitable arm - the Southwest Tennis Foundation - which also doles out money annually to community-oriented programs and individuals.

There are also funding sources at the most local of levels, and typically, these are the first ones communities or individuals should explore. They are usually (though not always) smaller in scale, but still impactful. Applications for district grants or funding are meant for individuals living inside those districts, or, operating programming within them.
