Intersectionals

The USTA Midwest Section sends a men's and women's team to participate in the USTA National Intersectional Team Championship. Play on a team, and compete against the other 16 USTA Sections from all parts of the United States. For the age categories of 35, and 45 - team members are usually rated 4.5/5.0 or above. For the age categories of 55, 65 - team members are usually rated 4.0/4.5 or above. USTA Midwest Section endorsement is required. If you want your team to have a chance competing in the USTA National Intersectional Team Championship, register today.
General Information
USTA National Intersectionals Championship
The event is currently counted as one of the required tournaments for a national ranking in the respective divisions (it will not replace the need to play the required USTA National Championships). ADVERTISEMENT Points will be awarded.
Team Selection
The USTA/Midwest Section Intersectional Team Selection Committee will select the tennis team and alternates. Selection will be based on District, Sectional, and National rankings; current year’s tournament record; participation in the USTA Midwest Section Senior Team Championships; UTSA League Tennis history; and any other pertinent information such as Non Sanctioned USTA tennis tournaments, National Senior Olympics, National ATA tournament results.
Expenses
Transportation, lodging, food and other expenses are the responsibility of the tennis players. Contact your respective team captain with questions.
Entry Fees
The USTA/Midwest Section will pay the tennis team entry fees. The USTA will provide all court costs, tennis balls, player banquet, welcome reception, player gift, and awards.
