A league of everyone’s own is here - or tournament!

On Sept. 4- 5 there will be a tournament like no other in the past. A new tournament in Salina, Kansas looks to bring the fun and the cash prizes.

The tournament will feature 3.0, 3.5, Men’s/Women’s divisions, and 7.0-8.0 Mixed divisions.  Two matches are guaranteed for each division.

Teams will consist of six people with three courts of doubles.  There will be a catered player party on tournament Saturday and cash prizes. It is looking to be a lot of fun for all!

The concept was born because USTA Kansas wants everyone to feel a part of the excitement and participate in tournament play across all levels.

“Everyone should be able to compete and feel the excitement.  You don’t need to travel to sectionals to compete and represent your level of play,” said Amy Mathew, USTA Kansas Adult League Chair and District League Coordinator.

Most tournaments that include cash prizes are exclusively for open players.  The hope for the Salina tournament is that more people will come out to compete, represent their division and build on the excitement going forward.

If you and your team would like to get involved, please contact Amy Mathew at ustakansasdlc@gmail.com. Registration deadline is August 25.
