USTA Missouri to Host
Adult Tournament in November

USTA Missouri is gearing up to host a doubles tournament for adult players at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield later this fall.
Leslie Echols — USTA Missouri adult league coordinator — encouraged potential participants to mark their calendars for the weekend of November 12-14. The adult 18 & Over tournament will feature flights for men’s doubles, women’s doubles as well as mixed doubles.
“So many people want to play and after the summer, there are just not as many opportunities,” Echols said. “We have a great facility. We want to take advantage of it and get people out playing. We want to be strong in the offseason so we can have a good year getting ready for Sectionals next year.”
If weather permits, the doubles tournament will take place outside. But Echols noted she has indoor courts reserved at the Cooper Complex, with an all-indoor tourney being the more likely outcome. “I think we’ll have a great turnout,” Echols said. “We have such a nice facility. There’s a growing interest in mixed doubles in the District — we have some leagues that have gone on the end of this summer.”
Though registration isn’t open quite yet for the adult doubles tournament, individuals can contact Echols if they have questions or need assistance finding a playing partner. Echols can be reached via email at: lemotennis@gmail.com
