New England Social Tennis League

If you’re looking to play more tennis and socialize with people in your area, you've come to the right place. In our leagues, the focus is FUN. It's a great place to meet new people and improve your tennis game!

We have leagues designed for young professionals ages 21-40 as well as 21 & over leagues to expand our reach to all.

How does the league work? The first night of each season is filled with tennis games like King of the Court and Around the World. This night is designed for you to get practice in before matches start and to meet the other people in your league. In the following weeks we play doubles matches once a week on co-ed teams.

All levels are welcome and we're happy to help you find the right fit. Email socialtennis@newengland.usta.com with any questions.

For more information on the format of our league, see our FAQs and Rules & Regulations linked below.

Social League Timeline

Spring season runs May to June

Summer season runs July to August

Fall season runs September to October

Registration for each season will open about a month before leagues begin

Registration Details

  • Once registration opens at 3pm on August 2nd, click the link for the site you want to register for. If you are a new player to our league, make sure you have your USTA login set up in advance here (it is free and you don't need a USTA membership to play). Since our Boston area sites are in such high demand, each player is only allowed to register for one site marked with an * below. You may sign up for more than one site as long as only one of them is marked with an *.

  • If you would like to enter the lottery or be added to a waitlist or sub list, please fill out this form (do not email us).
  • Lottery: We will save a few spots in each of the sites denoted with a * for the lottery. You may only enter the lottery if you are not already registered for a site.  You will be notified via email if you were selected to join a league. If you were not selected from the lottery, you will automatically be moved to our waitlist for your desired site(s).
  • Waitlist and sub list: If you would like to be added to our waitlists or sub lists, you must complete the form above.

Fall Leagues & Events

Beginner: This program offers instruction from a coach as a way to get started before playing Social League. This program is best for those who have never picked up a racquet before or who want to learn the fundamentals of tennis.

Recreational: This is our most popular and most social league! Open to all playing levels but primarily for lower to mid-level players (2.5 to 3.5 NTRP ratings). This level is great for players new to our league. You must be able to serve, rally, and keep score at a minimum.

Intermediate: This level is for higher-level players (3.5 or 4.0 NTRP ratings) that want to be social but also want solid, more competitive matches. This is the level for most former high school or college club or varsity players.

Advanced: This division is for our highest-level players (4.0 to 5.0 NTRP ratings) and while still social, the focus is on high-quality tennis. This would be ideal for a high-level former college club or varsity player.
