The USTA Middle States Section Junior Competition Committee’s registration for the National Level Boys & Girls Zonal Teams, USTA Boy's & Girl's Intersectional Team, and Boy's & Girl’s National Team Championships opens on March 24th , 2017 .

The National Team Championships are singles and doubles, non-elimination, round robin team events designed to introduce players to national competition in which players get to compete alongside fellow Middle States players against teams from the other sections.  

 

ZONE TEAMS REGISTRATION DEADLINE -  JUNE 22ND , 2017.

INTERSECTIONAL TEAMS REGISTRATION DEADLINE -  MAY 25TH , 2017. 

THE 18’S NATIONAL TEAM REGISTRATION DEADLINE - JUNE 22ND , 2017.

 

Register by clicking on the hyperlink in Event/Age Division.  Fax/e-mail the Release Form with a copy of your birth certificate to the Middle States Section Office.   

 

Selection Process - The Junior Competition Committee will select players for the national team competitions (BG 12’s, 14’s & 16’s Zone Team, BG16’s Intersectional, and BG 18’s National Team Championship Team). The selection of our teams will be based on the players ranked in the top 100 nationally for the age division in question (no more than half of any team will be taken from the top 100 on the national standing lists of the age division in question), followed by the players ranked on the USTA MS Sectional standings list published for the age division in question.  The final selection of players is at the discretion of the Junior Competition Committee and will be determined by what is felt to be in the best interests of the Section.

Team Composition - Once all players have been selected for Zone teams based on the criteria above, teams are ordered utilizing the waterfall method.  Players are placed in order by rank and then assigned a team in this method:
