Welcome to Vermont USTA League Tennis!


Vermont USTA League tennis offers fun, competitive match play for recreational players over the age of 18. Whether you want to play singles or doubles, in individual matches or in a team setting, Vermont League tennis provides social yet well-contested competition with players of similar skill throughout the state. Winners of local leagues have the opportunity to compete against teams in their district and section, to earn a coveted spot at the USTA National Championships!

Here’s how it works:

1. Based on your age, gender, and interests, identify the league(s) that suit your needs.
2. Use the NTRP self-rating system to determine your skill level. ADVERTISEMENT This will ensure that you play against similarly skilled players.
3. Contact the captains involved in leagues you are interested in. Don’t know the captains? Please contact us. We are happy to make introductions!

 

USTA Vermont League Tennis offers to following leagues:


Tri-Level — September - December.
This league is for men and women 18 years and over at the 3.5, 4.0, and 4.5 levels. Teams comprise 2-4 players, and play other teams at the same level. The winner of each level plays at the Sectional championship in Massachusetts in January, for a chance to earn a spot on the New England National team, which plays at the same time, and in the same venue, as the BNP Paribas in March.

 

Mixed 40 & Over — October - February.
This league is for men and women who are at least 40 years of age as of January 1 of the playoff year. Leagues include combined ratings of 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0 with minimum rating requirements. Three doubles positions are played in each match.

 

Mixed 18 & Over — January - April.
This league is for men and women who are at least 18 years of age as of January 1 of the playoff year. Leagues include ratings of 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0, and 10.0 with minimum rating requirements. Three doubles positions are played in each match.

 

Adult 40 & Over — February - June.
This league is for men and women who are at least 40 years of age as of January 1 of the playoff year. Leagues include 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+, and 5.0, with minimum NTRP requirement no more than 1 point below level. Matches comprise one singles and three doubles.

 

Adult 18 & Over — March - July.
This league is for men and women who are at least 18 years of age as of January 1 of the playoff year. Leagues include 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5+, and 5.0, with minimum NTRP requirement no more than 1 point below level. Matches comprise two singles and three doubles.

 

Adult 55 & Over — April - July.
This league is for men and women who are least 55 years of age as of January 1 of the playoff year. Combined rating leagues include 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0, with minimum rating requirements. Matches comprise three doubles.

 

Adult 65 & Over — May - August.
This league is for men and women who are least 55 years of age as of January 1 of the playoff year. Combined rating leagues include 6.0, 7.0, 8.0, 9.0 and 10.0, with minimum rating requirements. Matches comprise three doubles.
