Tournaments are a great way for kids to enjoy the thrill of competition by getting on the court, playing the game in a variety of styles and making new friends. As a USTA member, kids have access to over 400 sanctioned tournaments in Texas alone. Competing in tournaments will help them determine their personal goals for tennis at any level
USTA Texas has developed a youth progression system that encourages improvement by offering advancement opportunities to higher skill levels. There are junior tournaments for all players whether entry-level, intermediate or advanced. There are multiple types of tournament play available within the USTA Texas junior competitive system, and each can be broken down based on skill, athletic ability, and technical development. Future Stars, Challenger 10s, Challenger 12s-18s, Championship, and Super Championship tournaments are available to players ages 18 and under. Junior Open Tournaments are also available and include divisions for all levels (Challenger, Champ, and Super). The National and ITF Junior divisions are also available to players ages 18 and under. A player’s game may even expand beyond the junior competitive system into Collegiate and Professional Tennis.
