USTA Eastern Junior Team Tennis
Junior Team Tennis (JTT) is the flagship junior program of the USTA that combines level-based competition with the fun and camaraderie of playing on a team. JTT brings together boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, to play singles, doubles and mixed doubles against other coed teams. JTT events range from one-day tournaments to leagues that span multiple dates. The JTT championship track allows teams to advance to USTA Eastern’s Sectional Championships, where they can earn a spot to represent the section at the Junior Team Tennis National Championships.
Championship JTT (Ages 11-18)
In USTA Eastern's Championship JTT, teams within each of our six regions compete to advance to the USTA Eastern Sectional Championships. Winning teams in each division at the Sectional Championships will go on to represent the Eastern Section at the National Junior Team Tennis Championships.
Championship JTT Divisions
Intermediate Level: Players in this division should have a few L6 and/or L7 USTA tournaments played under their belt and/or practice a few times per week. This division is also ideal for JV high school players.
Advanced Level: This division is ideal for players who want to mix up their singles tournament schedule with the fun of team competition. Players at this level should be playing L1 to L5 USTA tournaments regularly and/or competing in high school team matches.
Local Leagues (Ages 10-18)
Local JTT leagues offer players the opportunity to gain some competitive experience in a fun, team atmosphere. JTT Leagues compete in the fall and spring and are offered in the majority of USTA Eastern regions. Parents have the option to form and captain a team if they wish.
JTT local leagues are offered in the 10 & Under (10U), 12U, 14U & 18U age groups and are divided into three divisions: 10 and Under, Beginner and Intermediate. To find the right league fit, check out the division descriptions below.
Local League Divisions
Beginner Level: This division is ideal for players who are new to tennis competition and want to play in a team atmosphere. Players at this level should have 1-2 years of experience in the sport and/or have participated in at least a few entry-level events.
Intermediate Level: Leagues at this level are designed for players who have competed in a few USTA tournaments and/or practice multiple times a week.
10 And Under Team Tennis (Ages 7-10)
Junior Team Tennis is offered in two divisions: Orange and Green. Typically JTT events for the age group are held over one day, but certain regions offer leagues with multiple dates. Additionally, players collect Net Generation PlayTracker points for participating in JTT events.
