What is USTA Junior Team Tennis?

USTA Junior Team Tennis is a multi-week program of team practice and match play for boys and girls, ages 6 to 18, who want to play tennis on teams. Teams are comprised of players of similar age and skill, and they compete against other teams from the same geographic region in one of four league divisions: 10 & under, 12 & under, 14 & under or 18 & under.

Team Challenges 

Team Challenge is an introduction to tennis competition offering a low-pressure team environment for children of all ages to develop their skills through level-based play, without an emphasis on instruction or results. This turnkey program offers many benefits for new youth tennis players as well as great resources for providers! This new Net Generation experience is for red, orange, and green ball.

Team Tournaments 

Team Tournament is an innovative way for children to gain match experience, develop their skills through level-based play, and demonstrate good sportsmanship! This turnkey program offers many benefits for new youth tennis players as well as great resources for providers! This new Net Generation experience is for orange, green, and yellow ball.

Junior Circuit 

A USTA Junior Round Robin is a single event, non-elimination tournament draw format, that lasts for only up to a half-day. This event format is designed for junior recreational players who are looking to try a tournament experience that allows them to compete as an individual or a doubles team. A USTA Junior Round Robin encourages players by guaranteeing individual match play. Tournament Directors will do their best to place players in groups based on their rating and level of experience, including orange, green, and yellow ball. This will help ensure an appropriate competitive level and positive sportsmanship through level-based play.
