The 2020 Eastern Tennis Conference will be held January 24 - 25, 2020 at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel.

 

The Eastern Tennis Conference is USTA Eastern's annual professional development gathering. Over two days, tennis leaders and professionals from all across the section convene to learn more about the state of competitive and community tennis, discuss new trends, and hopefully, form innovative collaborations to help further grow the game. The weekend will include on-court demonstrations and experiences as well as informative panel discussions and breakout sessions, all hosted by top industry luminaries.

Forging Strong Partnerships that Net Big Returns (11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)

Leaders in the sport from across the section discuss how you can forge partnerships with both tennis and non-tennis entities to enhance your product and increase opportunities for kids to play the game.

Serving an Inclusive Clientele with Emilio Sanchez (1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.)

Former professional player Emilio Sanchez illustrates some introductory drills that can help make your facility more welcoming for anyone in the community interested in playing tennis.

 

Crowd Pleasers: Drills for Big Groups (From High School to League Teams!) (3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.)

The USPTA's Jackie Clark and Millie Didio demonstrate some fun, dynamic warm-up games and drills that high school, college or even USTA League teams can integrate into practices.

 

Advantage Youth: Net Generation at the US Open and Other Professional Events (3:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.)

Net Generation is the USTA's key platform for growing tennis among today's youth. Learn how you can leverage professional events to bring this brand to life.

One of the greatest brother-sister duos to ever play the sport team up to reveal some of the most important lessons they've learned—from both on and off the court!

The mental game is often given credit for making the difference between winning and losing. The time between points constitutes an often-overlooked part of the mental game. Bob Schewoir takes you through the 4-D System highlighted in his book "Deconstructing Tennis: The 4-D System" by explaining the four steps a player should take between each and every point.

 

Making USTA Eastern Grants Work for You (1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

Learn how to use the section's online grants portal, where providers can apply for USTA Eastern section grants. We will discuss what new grant opportunities are available, review deadlines of upcoming applications, and provide tips on preparing for and writing the most effective and compelling grant applications and proposals.

 

Tournament Directors Workshop (1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

Come together with other tournament directors from across the section to learn about and discuss USTA's national pathway alignment and the latest happenings in competitive tennis in the Eastern section.
