Indoor Tennis - What You Should Know

January 10, 2022

Cooler temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic may mean you’ll be heading indoors more often to play tennis. Tennis facilities with indoor courts are open in the Mid-Atlantic, running programs with safe practices in place. They are working hard to ensure players that visit their courts are aware of the steps and requirements being taken to help people stay safe while playing tennis indoors.

Challenges from the pandemic do continue to exist and in some cases, are increasing in the Mid-Atlantic region. Tennis players and spectators should be aware of and follow the latest guidelines from the CDC, local and state health departments, and tennis facilities they are visiting.  You should be aware of any new or recent updates to protocols required by tennis facilities you may be playing at, such as mask requirements and proof of vaccination or negative test requirements, and prepare for those situations. The Section continues to face limitations for indoor court availability due to pandemic-related reasons beyond our control, which may have an impact on the scheduling of tournaments and other tennis programming.

USTA Mid-Atlantic Section continues to monitor the current COVID-19 climate to ensure health and safety protocols are in place for all who participate in an indoor tennis event sanctioned by the Section. The health and safety of our Mid-Atlantic tennis community continues to be our number one priority.
