KC Corporate Challenge Sees Return of Tennis Competition
It’s the most wonderful time of the year for employees looking forward to competing against others as they represent their companies in the annual Kansas City Corporate Challenge! Now in its 43rd year, this Olympic-style event is bigger and better than ever (per the event’s website, the Challenge features twice as many competitors as the actual Olympics!), with hundreds of employees representing dozens of Kansas City-area businesses vying for the top spot in events such as swimming, pickleball, soccer, basketball, and, of course, tennis.
This year’s tennis competition is gearing up to be one of the most competitive yet, with tons of entrants across multiple divisions in both the men’s and women’s events. The men’s event kicks off Sunday, May 7, and continues through Sunday, June 4, whereas the women’s event runs from Sunday, May 21, through Sunday, June 4. All matches will be played at the Kansas City Racquet Club in Merriam.
Both men’s and women’s events will be singles competitions, and each match will feature one eight-game pro set with regular Ad scoring. USTA rules apply to all matches. The tennis event is in a single-elimination format, with the losers of the semifinal matches vying for the third-place title and points.
Come show your support for tennis in Kansas City and stop by the Kansas City Racquet Club to cheer on these amazing competitors–match times are listed in the links above! To those participating in this year’s Kansas City Corporate Challenge, USTA Heart of America wishes you good luck in your matches.
