Happy Holidays from USTA Iowa

December 07, 2022

A few of us were able to attend the USTA Missouri Valley Annual Meeting this month and had a wonderful time. We got to see old friends and colleagues from all over the section and share exciting things from our district.

During the meeting we had a chance to reflect on the success of our CTA pathway grant, L7 development grant, the developing wheel chair tennis league in the Quad Cities, the efforts of our incredible officials and efforts to increase the number of officials across the state. We were proud to discuss the many competitive successes of Iowans in leagues, and tournaments, and tennis on Campus events. The year also showcased a fantastic event in Charles City with Madison Keys at the Court of Dreams. As the mantra goes “if you build it, they will come” thanks to the many programs that our district’s passionate volunteers have built, people are coming to fall in love with the sport like we all have.

As this year winds down, I’d like to personally wish you all the best during this holiday season. Enjoy your family and time off, play a little tennis, and resolve to continue to share the love of the game with your community.
