USTA Northern Executive Director Becky Cantellano is pleased to announce the hiring of Katie Bergmann as the new Manager of Junior Competition and Zeny McCoy as the Manager of Team Tennis. Under the direction of Pat Colbert, Chief Program Officer, these two candidates will serve the needs of our Junior Players. Bergmann replaces Tricia Moorhead, while McCoy is taking over for Brandon Jackson, who are leaving to pursue other interests. Bergmann starts in her new role July 2, while McCoy will be in the office full-time June 11.

From Irmo, S.C., Bergmann comes to USTA Northern from USTA South Carolina where she was the Junior Participation Coordinator. There, she was responsible for the Youth Progression Pathway, Net Generation, Early Development Camps and Junior Tournaments and worked with Team Tennis. ADVERTISEMENT She is a USPTA and PTR Certified Professional and graduated with a degree in Professional Tennis Management with a concentration in marketing from Ferris State University in 2017.

McCoy has been a tennis teaching professional at Life Time Athletic Eden Prairie since 2015, working with kids 10 and under. Prior to her work there, she was in the corporate world for over 13 years before taking time away to stay at home with her three children. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Computer Science and has her Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from the College of St. Catherine.

“We are thrilled to have Katie and Zeny joining our staff during this exciting time for junior tennis in USTA Northern,” Cantellano said. “Both bring a wealth of knowledge, passion and enthusiasm to the organization and will be key leaders as we continue to promote and develop the game of tennis around the Section.”
