United States Gay Open 2016

It’s time for USGO! The 36th Annual United States Gay Open is the premier LGBT tennis tournament in the country, and it’s happening Memorial Day weekend in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

We invite you to join us in this historic event.

As the hosts of this tournament, the GLTF provides a safe and welcoming place to learn and play tennis for the GLBTQ community and the public at large. For many members, it’s an opportunity to shed the stigmas many of us gay kids faced in grade school and high school athletics, and experience competitive sports in a celebratory environment.

The GLTF includes a diverse, 500 membership, including straight allies, recreational players, competitive athletes, and social players. As a non-profit, we are committed to the idea of inclusive tennis. We help people play, learn, and grow in the sport without charging high fees for membership, court time, lessons, etc.

For this year’s USGO tournament, we anticipate over 100 players. Proceeds from our tournament will go to The Center, San Francisco’s LGBT hub for connecting our diverse community and promoting a more equitable world.

We will have men’s and women’s draw at all levels, a fun World Team Tennis event, a welcome party, court side banquet and more. All players are welcome!

We would love any assistance you could provide in helping us get the word out about this historic tournament.
