Steve (pictured to the right) was born in New Jersey and received degrees from the University of Virginia (1981) and the University of Oregon (1986). He has worked for 30 years at LRS Architects, where he is a Principal, with offices in Portland and Shanghai. Steve appreciates good graphic design and finds designing logos a fun and creative challenge. More below...

Steve has worked on the Mercedes-Benz in Wilsonville and the Hillsboro City Hall, and currently is working on a new Event Center for Washington County.

After playing tennis in high school, Steve picked it up again 10 years ago when he joined Multnomah Athletic Club (MAC) in Portland.  He has been playing tennis on teams at the MAC since, and was fortunate to attend Nationals with his men’s team in 2013. Steve appreciates the demanding physical and competitive aspects of the game, and enjoys the camaraderie with teammates and opponents, and the challenge to keep improving over the years.

In addition to tennis, Steve plays indoor and beach volleyball. Steve ran a men’s volleyball team for 10 years, and has played in the annual Seaside Beach Volleyball tournament for over 20 years. He also enjoys skiing, golfing, hiking, kayaking and photography.  Steve and his family have traveled extensively, including recent trips to Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and China. They recently enjoyed a trip to Machu Picchu in Peru this past Fall.

Steve entered the PNW T-Shirt Design Contest the last two years, and again this year, and was surprised to learn one of his logos was selected as this year's winner. When asked, his advice to all contestants is to keep the designs simple, and focus on the primary strength of the concept. But most of all, have fun with the design!
