USTA League Fee Changes for 2018-2019

USTA Pacific Northwest | December 1, 2017

USTA League Fee Changes for 2018-2019

The USTA League Fee will increase by $3 for all leagues starting in 2018 (including 2019 early start leagues in the fall of 2018). This league fee increase is necessary to continue to offer professional services to our players. The Pacific Northwest continues to be the only Section that employs most of their Area League Coordinators as full time, which allows players and facilities to benefit from receiving professional service when participating in USTA Leagues. The increase in fees will help ensure that the USTA PNW can continue to offer this. Another benefit will be seen at the USTA PNW Section Championships as there will now be at least one certified USTA official and one USTA PNW League Coordinator at each Sectional site. This will help ensure all players have the best experience possible at the Section Championships.

Some of the league fees also support the USTA PNW RecTennis program. RecTennis makes tennis and life skills programs accessible for communities across the Pacific Northwest regardless of age, skill level, and socio-economic background. Our 300 community partnerships, spanning public parks, parks and rec departments, and other community outlets, provide the space. RecTennis provides the rest: USTA-approved tennis activities, educational curricula that meets state and federal standards, and free equipment. Since its beginnings in 2013, RecTennis has reached over 30,000 participants and helped employ over 500 seasonal staff. Many family members and friends of USTA League players who do not have exposure to tennis can benefit from what RecTennis has to offer. Also every time a USTA League player registers for a team, they are helping to grow the game of tennis across the PNW! For more information on RecTennis, please visit www.rectennis.com
