USTA Caribbean's Department of Communities maintains a wide variety of programs to support tennis clubs, schools, public, private organizations and special communities in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
These programs consist of introductory lessons for beginners, clinics, educational proposals, recreational leagues for youth and adults, and facility funding.
We organize numerous events to develop and promote this sport among the entire population regardless of their tennis skills, socioeconomic position, age, race, etc.
Free Clinics:We offer introductory tennis lessons for beginners and free workshops for children, youth, adults and the elderly. We also provide support and training to physical education teachers to achieve the implementation of tennis in the school curriculum through the Net Generation program curricula.
Edu Tenis: Program supported by the USTA Foundation , which integrates tennis and academic achievement. It takes place during non-school hours and / or after school providing the necessary tools to strengthen personal improvement and self-discipline in children. It offers free tennis equipment for participating schools. One of the most outstanding activities of this program is the Spelling Bee - which is held annually.
Partnerships: We establish collaborative agreements with various organizations to support them in the development of sports initiatives that generate a positive impact on the communities they serve.
Adaptive Tennis: Tennis has been proven to be an excellent sport for children, youth and adults regardless of their condition. Tennis promotes a better social integration, increases their self-esteem, improves their motor skills and promotes an independent lifestyle.
Wheelchair: We foster the integration of wheelchair tennis players in our programs, while we support recreational leaders and tennis coaches interested in providing services to this community.
