2019 Year in Review
2019 was an inspiring and productive year in the Chicago District. We expanded our vision of promoting and growing the game of tennis. As we start a new year, we call special attention to the diligent efforts of the many individuals who were instrumental in bringing alive this mission. A heartfelt thank you to our new Executive Director, Jill Siegel, and her indefatigable commitment to broadening the bounds of Chicagoland tennis. We extend our appreciation for the steadfast dedication of each and every employee and team member that wakes up every day to try to make the tennis landscape in Chicago a better one.
Our board realizes that many of us exist in “tennis silos” (league play, community tennis and outreach, junior tournaments, club management, etc.) but hopefully the stories linked below share the diverse expressions of tennis we are spearheading in order to create a healthy ecosystem for the sport in Chicago. ADVERTISEMENT The board keeps our motto close at hand; we do not privilege types of play, whether it’s someone learning the basics in a Chicago Park District class or junior and adult players competing at the highest level. It is a gift to see courts utilized and people enjoying the game.
Our board would love to hear from you about what is right and what needs work in the District. The final thanks are to each of you…..the people who play, watch, administer, organize and relish in the greatest game.
Keep up the good work,
