Patrick J. Galbraith, Director at Large

Patrick J. Galbraith
Patrick J. Galbraith began serving a third consecutive two-year term as a Director at Large on the USTA Board of Directors in January 2011. One of three elite athletes on the board, Galbraith is serving a first term as Vice Chair of the Budget Committee and a second term as Vice Chair of the Investment Committee. He previously served as the Board Liaison to the Professional Tennis Council and, prior to that, as a member of the ATP Player Council.
Galbraith grew up playing junior tennis in the Pacific Northwest Tennis Association and starred at UCLA, where he was a three-time All-American and teamed with Brian Garrow to win the 1988 NCAA doubles championship.
Galbraith subsequently played as a professional from 1989 until 2000, rising to become one of the top doubles players in the world. He paired with current USTA Player Development General Manager Patrick McEnroe to form the doubles team on the 1996 U.S. Davis Cup squad. Galbraith also won the US Open Mixed Doubles Championship in 1994 with Elna Reinach and again in 1996 with Lisa Raymond, and he finished the 1993 season as the No. 1-ranked men’s doubles team with partner Grant Connell. That same year he and Connell were named the ATP’s Doubles Team of the Year, and they also combined to win the World Doubles Championship in 1995. Galbraith finished his career with 36 doubles titles.
After retiring from the professional tour, Galbraith went back to UCLA and earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2001. Since that time, he has worked for UBS Financial Services, Inc., as a financial advisor.  He also has attained the designation of Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®).
Galbraith has been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Seattle for the past 20 years. He also helped launch a grass-roots tennis program in the state of Washington during his playing career.
In his personal time, Galbraith enjoys playing tennis and snow skiing with his family.
Galbraith lives in Bainbridge Island, Wash., with his wife, Tammy, and two children, Ben and Annie. Galbraith is a member of the USTA Pacific Northwest Section.
