USTA Missouri Valley Award Winners

The USTA Missouri Valley has announced our 2016 award winners. The awards honor the best players, events, coaches, volunteers and sportsmanship over the past year. 

The award winners were recognized during the USTA Missouri Valley Annual Conference and Awards luncheon on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at the Sheraton Hotel in Overland Park, Kan. 

• Adult Player of the Year: Pat Purcell (St. Louis)

• Community Service Excellence: The Greens Country Club (Oklahoma)

• Distinguished Service: Beth Causey (St. Louis)

• Event of the Year: Wichita Tennis Open Community Events (Kansas)

• Facility of the Year: Overland Park Racquet Club (Heart of America)

• Junior Player of the Year (Female): Morgan Coppoc (Oklahoma)

• Junior Player of the Year (Male): Carson Haskins (St. Louis)

• Media Excellence: Brian Aufdengarten, Kansas State High School Athletic Association (Kansas)

• Member Organization of the Year: Sunset Tennis Center (St. Louis)

• Outstanding Community Tennis Association: Topeka Tennis Association (Kansas)

• Outstanding Adult/Senior Tournament: 77th Annual Adult Jayhawk Open (Kansas)

• Outstanding Contributor to USTA League Tennis Program: Sam Shouldis (St. Louis)

• Outstanding Contributor to Youth High Performance Program: Mike Miller (St. Louis)

• High School Coach: Skip Griese (Oklahoma)
