US Open (annually)

 

ELIGIBILITY

USTA-certified official (age 21 or older) who is in one of his or her first three years at the US Open.

 

CRITERIA

Hard work, professionalism, technical ability, and cooperative attitude both on and off the court.

 

SELECTION PROCESS

Each year at the US Open the National Chairman of Officials requests each member of the Chief Umpire's office staff to submit the names of three officials who meet the eligibility requirements for the award.  That list is compiled and all members of the Chief Umpire's office staff vote to determine the award recipient.  The individual who receives the most votes becomes that year's Jack Stahr award winner.
