USTA Northern California is proud to honor those who contribute to our tennis

community. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, we will host our annual Adult

Competition Awards Ceremony at The Palm Event Space at Rubino Estates

Adult League Awards

  • Adult League Captain of the Year
    Awarded annually an individual in each league area in recognition of exceptional leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship.
  • Most Teams Captained
    Awarded annually to one male and one female player who captained the highest number of NorCal Adult League teams during the season
  • New Captain of the Year
    Awarded annually to one male and one female first time captain that exemplified exceptional leadership, dedication, and sportsmanship.
  • League Facilities of the Year
    Awarded annually to a league facility that has demonstrated outstanding hospitality to our members at section championship events.
  • Local League Area Coordinator of the Year
    Awarded annually to an individual in recognition of exemplary volunteer service to leagues, serving as a liaison between the NorCal office staff and the local tennis community
  • Service to Leagues
    Awarded annually to an individual whose long-standing volunteer work has significantly supported league competition and improved league play. This award recognizes dedication, involvement and contributions on a sectional or national level.
  • League Volunteer of the Year
    Awarded annually to an individual whose contributions of time and volunteerism have enhanced NorCal league programs over the past year.
  • Impact Player of the Year
    Awarded annually to one male and one female who have demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership and passion for USTA League tennis.
  • Most Matches Played
    Awarded annually to one male and one female in the 18-39, 40-54, and 55 and over age group who demonstrated outstanding dedication by competing in the most matches played during the season.
  • Most Improved Player
    Awarded annually to one male and one female player who have shown remarkable growth and dedication to improving their game.
  • League Sportsmanship Award
    Awarded annually to one male and one female player who embodies the spirit of fair play, respect, and camaraderie on and off the court.

Adult Tournament Awards

  • Top NorCal Player 
    Certificates awarded annually in each division to the player/team in the #1 position on the final ranking list, when filtered to the NorCal section
  • Match Player of the Year
    Awarded annually to one male and one female player that played the most tournament matches in the NTRP 18+, NTRP 40+, NTRP 55+, Age Group, and Open division
  • Player of the Year
    Awarded annually to the player in the #1 on the National Final Ranking list.
  • Outstanding Competitor of the Year
    Awarded annually to up to three players based on nomination by tournament players, tournament staff, Referee’s etc throughout the year
  • Sportsmanship Award
    Awarded annually to up to three players based on nominations by tournament players, Tournament staff, Referee’s, etc throughout the year
  • Pete Sharkey Award:
    Monetary award given annually to a man aged 55 and over who has won his first NorCal Age Group singles tournament in the preceding calendar year.
  • Adult Tournament Director of the Year:
    Awarded annually to the tournament director that hosted the most tournaments (Adult Open, Age Group, Family and/or NTRP Tournament). Recipients are determined by the Adult Tournament Committee based on player evaluation rating.
  • Outstanding NTRP Tournament of the Year:
    Awarded annually to the Organization Member sanction holder of an NTRP Tournament. Recipients are determined by the Adult Tournament Committee based on player evaluation rating.
  • Outstanding Age Group Tournament of the Year:
    Awarded annually to the Organization Member sanction holder of an Age Group Tournament. Recipients are determined by the Adult Tournament Committee based on player evaluation rating.
  • Outstanding Open Tournament of the Year:
    Awarded annually to the Organization Member sanction holder of an Adult Open Tournament. Recipients are determined by the Adult Tournament Committee based on player evaluation rating.
  • Outstanding New Tournament:
    Awarded annually to the Organization Member sanction holder of an Adult Open, Adult Group, Family and/or NTRP Tournament. Recipients are determined by the Adult Tournament Committee based on player evaluation rating.
  • Outstanding 1-Day tournament of the Year:
    Awarded annually to the Organization Member sanction holder of a 1-Day Tournament. Recipients are determined by the Adult Tournament Committee based on player evaluation rating.
