In 2024, the USTA conducted more than 470 pilots with over 23,000 potential players to understand player, coach, and administrator feelings toward a less competitive play format. With 75% of players indicating they wanted to play more Red Ball Tennis, these retention rates are a strong driver for the introduction of players to our sport.
Approved providers will receive an equipment package to support the growth of tennis in the United States.
After running over 400 pilots with over 20,000 players, USTA is planning to launch Red Ball Tennis as a strategy to attract new and returning adults & families into tennis, to encourage current players to invite their families, friends and coworker to play, and to give players a new option when the full court game becomes a challenge.
Section approved providers will receive an equipment package, and additional opportunities will be announced soon regarding a Local Ambassador program, College Campus Ambassador program and much more to support USTA’s goal to reach 200,000 Red Ball Tennis players in 2025.
