Grand Prix
EXCITING NEWS!
We now have a new USTA NorCal website—visit ustanorcal.com to explore the refreshed site. Most information will move there in the future as we reorganize this site. Feel free to look around, and if you have any questions, reach out to us at marketing@norcal.usta.com. We’d love to hear from you!
The Adult Grand Prix is NorCal’s culmination of the season. Players work all year long to earn ranking points in order to qualify for the tournament. Each tournament you play will give you points and put you on the National Standings List. The more points you have, the better your chances to get selected
To be eligible for the Grand Prix tournament players must be USTA NorCal members and must have played at least one (1) sanctioned tournament in the NorCal section. The Grand Prix tournament will be a Closed Level 4 tournament and will count toward the Standings. All players must register in order to be considered no matter how highly they are ranked.
The top 8 players in the NTRP 18+ 2.5-5.0 divisions, and in the Open divisions (top 16 players in the men’s Open division) will be selected to play in the Grand Prix event. Doubles teams for all adult Grand Prix events will be selected by combining the two partners' individual points and selecting those teams with the highest combined totals. Should a tie exist in determining the last invited position for the Grand Prix tournament in an NTRP, the following criteria will be used, in order, until the tie is broken: most tournaments played; most matches played; head-to-head matches won; coin toss.
