USTA Middle States League Tennis Update

USTA League Update: USTA Middle States

An update on the 2021 USTA League season:

As tennis players continue to make their way back to the courts, USTA Middle States is beginning to kick off the official 2021 league season throughout the six districts.

These playing opportunities will vary by district, but will include advancement and more traditional leagues.

Based on a variety of increased costs from an administrative side, an additional $3 fee will be added to each player’s league registration cost for the 2021 fall, winter and spring leagues. This is the first time since 2017 that the registration fee has been increased.

Players who received a credit to their USTA member account from a 2020 league that did not take place will not have to pay the $3 additional fee.

As a benefit to adult members, USTA is offering a 50 percent discount for players who had active adult or senior USTA memberships between mid-March and mid-June. The offer is good on only one-year adult and one-year senior memberships who had active accounts during that time period, and the offer will be available to anyone that renews from now until next March. For questions about membership, email

Meanwhile, Middle States is continuing to offer its free captain registration promotion, which allows captains one free registration per team. Additional details on how to receive this promotion will be communicated by each district’s area league coordinator.

Middle States will begin to promote fall and winter league play in the coming weeks. In the meantime, interested players can always reach out to their area league coordinator, or click here to have someone reach out to them about opportunities in their area. In addition, players can always email with questions or needs.

An update on refunds:

The deadline to request a refund for your 2020 USTA Middle States League has passed. For those who have requested a refund, you should have received your refund check. For those who have requested a credit, the credit should be placed in your USTA account. To see the credit, you must log on to, go to your Welcome Page, and in the top right hand corner click on Manage Accounts, which has a tab for Credits. The expiration date to use your credit is August 1, 2021.

If you have any questions regarding your USTA membership, please contact Member Services at (800) 990-8782.

While many tennis facilities have reopened outdoor and indoor tennis in the past few months, please continue to review the USTA suggested guidelines for facilities and players to play tennis safely.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your local USTA contact or email
