Junior Team Tennis pop-up event brings Friday Night Lights energy to Tulsa
Young tennis players will have a new opportunity to compete, connect and have fun on the court as part of National Tennis Month taking place in May.
A Junior Team Tennis pop-up event is set for Friday, May 29 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the University of Tulsa, offering a unique ‘Friday Night Lights’ atmosphere designed to energize middle school and high school players alike.
This Night Smash Madness event is built around a team-based match play format, giving participants the chance to compete alongside friends in a setting that emphasizes both competition and camaraderie.
The JTT pop-up is designed to be relaxed and fast-paced, making it an ideal environment for players of varying skill levels to gain match experience without the pressure of a full-day event. Learn more and register by clicking here.
Organizers said the goal is simple: get more juniors on the court enjoying the game and building connections within the local tennis community. By blending structured match play with a lively, social environment, the event aims to create a memorable experience that keeps players engaged and excited about the sport.
Teams will be divided into middle school and high school divisions, ensuring competitive and age-appropriate matchups throughout the evening. With limited spots available, registration will operate on a first-come, first-served basis, encouraging coaches and parents to act quickly to secure their teams’ participation.
The Friday Night Lights theme adds an extra layer of excitement, transforming the courts into a high-energy setting where players can compete under the lights and enjoy a unique nighttime tennis experience. Events like this continue to play a key role in growing the game at the grassroots level, offering accessible and enjoyable opportunities for young athletes to stay active and involved.
Coaches and parents interested in entering a team are encouraged to review the event flyer for full details and complete the team interest form, which is available by clicking here.
Organizers are also available to answer any questions leading up to the event. Contact Casey McKenzie at mckenzie@movalley.usta.com for more information.
With its blend of competition, community and fun, the Junior Team Tennis Night Smash Madness is shaping up to be a highlight of National Tennis Month in Tulsa — one that players won’t want to miss. Be on the lookout for more events like this in the future.
