USTA NEW ENGLAND CELEBRATES 22 ORGANIZATIONS AWARDED MICRO-GRANT FUNDING
WESTBOROUGH, MA - USTA New England proudly announces that 22 organizations across the section have been awarded USTA National Micro-Grants, totaling $133,925. USTA New England ranked second among all USTA sections in both total funding received and number of grant recipients in 2026.
These grants, ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, will support impactful initiatives focused on youth development, adaptive and wheelchair tennis, and expanding access in underrepresented communities throughout the region.
Six organizations received the maximum $10,000 award for high-impact projects, including A. Bright Future, Inc., Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment Center, the International Tennis Hall of Fame and The Friends of Newton Tennis. Their initiatives range from increasing access for tournament-level players of color and launching a diverse youth coaching academy to expanding wheelchair tennis and creating new competitive and community-based playing opportunities.
Notably, three State Associations, Maine Tennis Association, USTA Vermont, and USTA Connecticut, were among the recipients, with two receiving maximum funding, reinforcing a shared commitment to growing the game at every level.
Additional funded programs span the section, from Community Tennis Associations and National Junior Tennis & Learning chapters to grassroots school-based initiatives and adaptive programming. Organizations will use funds to introduce and sustain tennis opportunities for youth and families in their communities.
“This funding reflects the strength, creativity and commitment of our organizations across New England,” said Mavi Sanchez-Skakle, Head of Social Impact & Opportunity for USTA New England. “We’re proud to support initiatives that make tennis more accessible and inclusive for players of all ages and abilities.”
