Nueva Inglaterra enviará cuatro a los JTT Nationals

LAKE NONA, FL- Nueva Inglaterra enviará cuatro equipos al Campus Nacional de la USTA en Lake Nona, FL para el 2017 Campeonato Nacional de Tenis por Equipos Juveniles (JTT). Sippican Tennis Club (14U Advanced), de Marion, MA y MadRackets (14U Intermediate), de Madison Racquet and Swim Club en Madison, CT competirán del 21al24 de septiembre, mientras que North Shore Legends (18U Advanced), del área de Boston y New Hampshire Rogues (18U Intermediate), de Bedford, NH jugarán del 28de septiembre al 1 de octubre.


La aparición en los Nacionales será la cuarta consecutiva para MadRackets, la segunda consecutiva para North Shore Legends y la primera para Sippican y NH Rogues.


Los cuatro equipos avanzaron a los Nacionales al ganar sus respectivos vuelos en el Campeonato de la Sección de Nueva Inglaterra en agosto en la Universidad de Harvard.

Sam Rubin started as a Social Tennis League player, where he’s played in Boston area sites for years. It was there he found out about the opportunity to serve as a captain of the 18-39 league out of Eastern Mass.     The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
