Cuatro campeones de Nueva Inglaterra coronados en julio L2

WESTBOROUGH, MA- En su primera acción después de las Seccionales de Nueva Inglaterra, los mejores jugadores juveniles viajaron por todo el país del 1al4 de julio para competir en los Torneos Nacionales L2 de julio. Desde la costa este hasta el medio oeste, los habitantes de Nueva Inglaterra obtuvieron resultados sólidos en todas las divisiones de edad, ganando cuatro campeonatos individuales y de dobles y logrando seis resultados entre los tres primeros. 

 

A continuación se muestran las mejores actuaciones de Nueva Inglaterra:

Peter Conklin (Fairfield, CT) - Campeón, 18s masculino, Academia Militar de Estados Unidos, West Point, Nueva York. 

Eleanor Schulson (Newburyport, MA) - Campeona, 16s femenina, Force Sports Dayton, Englewood, OH. 

Olivia Lincer (Windsor, CT) - 8º lugar, 12femenino, Triad Tennis Management, Greensboro, Carolina del Norte.

    The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
