Cuatro avances de las seccionales mixtas 40 y superiores
USTA New England celebró sus segundas Seccionales de Liga del verano del 14al16 de julio, el 40 y Overs. Cuatro equipos han avanzado y competirán en los Nacionales este otoño. Los equipos se enumeran a continuación:
9.0 Campeones- MCAC; campbell
Mid-Cape Athletic Club se llevó a casa el 9.0 campeonato al derrotar a un equipo de Rally Point. Liderados por la capitana Elizabeth Campbell, Mid Cape ganó el partido, 2-1, y se llevó 12 sets en total frente a los ocho de Rally Point.
8.0 Campeones: Weymouth; Stansbury
El dúo de marido y mujer formado por Alicia y Paul Stansbury salió victorioso al llevar a su equipo al 8.0 corona. El equipo no perdió una posición en todo el fin de semana, avanzando en su vuelo 3-0 (8-1) y ganándose un lugar en las semifinales. Allí, arrasaron con Bass River (3-0) y se encargaron de Shrewsbury en la final, 3-0.
7.0 Campeones: Weymouth; Inés
En el grupo más grande del fin de semana con seis vuelos, Weymouth; Innes salió como la única vencedora. Dirigido por Gary Innes, Weymouth derrotó a Intensity Club y Willows en un campeonato de tres equipos para decidir el ganador. El equipo terminó 3-0 (7-2) en el juego aéreo para alcanzar el campeonato.
6.0 Campeones: Waltham; Kraus
Liderado por la capitana Amy Kraus, el equipo terminó 2-0 en su vuelo de tres equipos compilando una puntuación de posición 4-2 . Waltham derrotó a Cedardale Blue y Rally Point para llevarse a casa el título seccional.

The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
