JUGADORES Y ENTRENADORES DE NUEVA INGLATERRA SELECCIONADOS PARA ENTRENAR EN EL CAMPUS NACIONAL DE LA USTA EN ORLANDO, FLORIDA
WESTBOROUGH, MA – USTA New England se complace en anunciar que la organización enviará un equipo de jugadores con entrenadores al Campus Nacional de la USTA en Orlando, FL para entrenar y jugar partidos en preparación para el Campeonato Nacional de Invierno de la USTA.
Se han elegido cinco niños y seis niñas junto con dos entrenadores para acompañarles en el viaje. Los chicos seleccionados son: Mark Sverdlov, Daniel Milavsky, Michael Karr, Derek Shen y Matthew Campbell. Las chicas seleccionadas son: Page Freeman, Lana Mavor, Eleanor Schulson, Sarah Campbell, Lexi Kubas e Iris Gallo. A los once jugadores se unirán los entrenadores Eliot Potvin y Danielle Monteith.
Este viaje de entrenamiento se llevará a cabo del 20al 22de diciembre y brindará a los jugadores la oportunidad de prepararse y aclimatarse para los Campeonatos Nacionales de Invierno de la USTA de 16y 18que se llevarán a cabo el 27 de diciembre. , 2017 hasta el martes 2 de enero de 2018.
La USTA New England cubre el hotel, el transporte y los almuerzos de los jugadores y entrenadores, así como los salarios de los entrenadores.
“Los once jugadores fueron seleccionados en función de su participación en los Nacionales de Invierno de 16o 18y su clasificación. La mayoría de los jugadores están clasificados entre los primeros 150 a nivel nacional en su división de edad. Todos han demostrado una ética de trabajo, competitividad, nivel de habilidad y actitud positivos en sus carreras competitivas. Estamos entusiasmados de brindarles esta oportunidad”, dijo el Gerente de Desarrollo de Jugadores de la USTA New England, David Zeutas-Broer.

The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
