Junior Team Tennis Sectionals 2023
SPRINGFIELD, MA - Milford Indoor Tennis (CT) encabezó los Campeonatos de la Sección de Tenis Junior por Equipos de este año que se jugaron del 9al10 de agosto en Springfield's Forest Park y Longmeadow's Blinn Tennis Courts.
El entrenador Frank Lorenzetti llevó a su equipo Smart Aces a superar a cinco de los mejores de Nueva Inglaterra para capturar el título 18U. Milford, que contó con Michael Lorenzetti, Riggs Moran, Roselyn Shen, Desmond Shannon y Hudson Schunk, estuvo invicto (5-0) durante su lapso de dos días, incluida una victoria cara a cara sobre los finalistas del segundo lugar, Aces, del sureste de Massachusetts.
Lorenzeti y Moran también formaron parte del equipo 2022 Milford que capturó el campeonato 14U.
En el lado 14U, los Bloomfield Bobcats superaron a Grassroots Tennis & Education para capturar el título. Los jugadores de Bloomfield fueron: William Scudder, Paul Winterberg, Madelyn Hermes, Karthik Prem y Karen Yang.
El torneo también contó con dos 12vuelos U (uno por día). Granite State Kids (NH) se ocupó del negocio el miércoles y Milford Indoor salió victorioso el jueves.
Más de 21 jugadores fueron nominados por jugadores y entrenadores rivales solo en la 18división U, y el premio finalmente fue para Parker Guffey de Stowe. Paul Winterberg, de Bloomfield, ganó el premio en la división 14U. Las jugadoras de 12U Natalia Corona y Elsie Osofsky ganaron los premios en 12U.

NE Wins Friendship CupAugust 14, 2023The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
