Ron Romano

Ron Romano, originally from New Jersey, has a unique background in both business and tennis. Ron earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moravian College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from Touro College in New York. Ron played Division II tennis at Moravian College and then became a teaching professional for 12 years including 5 years with Peter Burwash International. Ron was the Head Professional / Director of Tennis at 4 top 50 tennis resorts including Caneel Bay Plantation in the U.S. ADVERTISEMENT Virgin Islands and 3 Hawaii resorts including Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, Mauna Kea Beach Hotel and The Westin Kauai. Ron then held senior management positions as the Vice President of Operations of Kauai Lagoons Resort, the General Manager of the Sheraton Makaha Resort and the General Manager of the Kauai Coconut Beach Resort. Ron also served as an Officer in the Army National Guard. Start Year: 2002


Madeleine Dreith

Madeleine Dreith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Design/Fine Arts from UCLA.  Having worked in office supply retail management for over 15 years, both in Los Angeles and Hawaii, Madeleine has experience in project development, purchasing, merchandising, event planning and promotions/marketing.  These skill sets were easily transferred into her present responsibility that involves developing, servicing and promoting community tennis programs. Founder of the Kilauea Jr. Tennis Club, she oversees 150 plus youngsters and their families. Madeleine is instrumental in the development of youth tennis in Hawaii and is the longest serving staff member. Madeleine is a certified PTR Professional and USPTA member. Start Year: 1998

Mimi Kennell
Director of Junior Tennis

Mimi Kennell has an extensive background as a player, coach and teacher.  She was born and raised in Taiwan and was the #1 junior player and the #3 open player in her country.  Prior to her collegiate career, Mimi played on the WTA tour.  Mimi went on to play for BYU Hawaii and was part of the NCAA II National Championship team in 1997.  Mimi has coached at Kamehameha Schools, Iolani School, and at Pearl Harbor.  She is a certified USPTA and PTR professional and holds a Master of Education degree in Secondary Education from Chaminade University. Start Year: 2006


Sara M. Yoshinaga

Sara Yoshinaga was born and raised in Hawaii and has previously worked with the USTA Hawaii Pacific Section in several capacities. She is a high school graduate of Iolani School. She then attended college at the University of Redlands and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration. While at the University of Redlands, Sara competed on the women's varsity tennis teams and was a member of the All-Conference 2nd team and the recipient of the 2009 Most Improved Award. Sara comes to the USTA from KMH LLP, where she was a human resource and tax assistant for four years. Concurrently, Sara has been the main Adult League Local League Coordinator on Oahu for the USTA. Start Year: 2017


Christine Nip

Christine Nip was born in Hong Kong, but has been calling Hawaii home since the age of five. She graduated Moanalua High School as valedictorian and attained both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Communication Management at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Upon moving back to Hawaii post-college, Christine pursued a career in wedding and corporate event planning. She then combined her love for events with her marketing background to launch her own business providing marketing services to wedding industry vendors. Christine is currently taking tennis lessons through our Play to Learn Tennis program. Start Year: 2017


Roman Kop

Roman Kop was born and raised in Hawaii. He is a high school graduate from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama, where he won the Hawaii High School State Doubles Title. He then played Division II Tennis for Hawaii Pacific University, and went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Roman has interned for the USTA Hawaii Pacific, and worked as a teaching pro at the Bruce Nagel Tennis Academy and Kaneohe Marine Corps Base Hawaii. Roman is a certified USPTR Professional. Start Year: 2017


Jony Conching

Jony Conching holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Fashion Marketing from the University of Massachusetts. Jony has managerial experience in retail and came to the USTA from an architectural firm where she held an office manager position. Jony is actively involved in league tennis and the tennis community in Hawaii. Start Year: 2006


Kristina Adams

Originally from Lexington, Virginia, Kristina moved to Hawaii in 2005. Prior to working at USTA, she taught English to international students at private language schools on Oahu. She holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Scandinavian Area Studies and Danish from the University of Washington.  Kristina loves to spend her free time outdoors, ocean swimming and biking. She also enjoys singing, dancing, and live music. She joined a USTA league for the first time in 2017. Start Year: 2017

Annalyn Picken

Originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Annalyn has lived in Japan, Florida and returned to Hawaii in 2015. As a self-proclaimed "jack of all trades," Annalyn comes with a variety of career experiences as an x-ray technologist, customer service specialist and ESL teacher. Most recently, she has enjoyed the rewarding role of being a stay-at-home mom to her two kids, ages 9 and 13. In her spare time, Annalyn likes to spend time with her family, watch movies, and bake. Annalyn also enjoys playing tennis and has played in high school as well as in adult leagues in Florida, Virginia and currently in Hawaii. Start Year: 2017
