Rosemary Fri, Class of 2002




In 1963, Rosemary became the first women’s tennis coach at the University of Northern Colorado. During her tenure, the UNC women have had tremendous success. Her 1983 women’s squad was inducted into the UNC Athletic Hall of Fame.

 

Rosemary has twice received the Wilson Coach of the Year Award, and was named Sportswomen of Colorado Coach of the Year in 1992. In 1994, she was a member of the first class to be inducted into the UNC Athletic Hall of Fame.

 

Rosemary has been instrumental in the growth of tennis in northern Colorado. In 1999, she received the Colorado Tennis Association Bud Robineau Award for her contributions to the community, and in 2001, she was honored with the Intermountain Section’s David Freed Award for her lifetime service to tennis.
