The Missouri Valley Tennis Foundation is an organization that supports organizations and programs that enhance the lives of people through tennis and education.
MISSION STATEMENT
The Missouri Valley Tennis Foundation supports organizations and programs that enhance the lives of people through tennis and education. It is dedicated to improving the quality of life of children and adults, people with disabilities, and others with special needs through tennis and education programs that are based on health, fitness, character-building, and self-improvement.
GUIDING PRINCIPLES
The Missouri Valley Tennis Foundation encompasses all people who play, watch, support, or enjoy the game of tennis into its events, programs, membership, leadership, and activities on a non-discriminatory basis. Its guiding principles recognize the basic values embedded in tennis and education, including fun, discipline, hard work, self-improvement, and success. It supports efforts in tennis and education that help disadvantaged youth and adults, and those with disabilities.
The Foundation includes youngsters and adults from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds and encourages children and adults to pursue their goals and highest dreams by succeeding in school and life and becoming responsible citizens.
THE GOALS OF THE FOUNDATION
The Missouri Valley Tennis Foundation has established goals of reaching as many disadvantaged youth and adults as possible through tennis and education, broadening scholarship programs for those who seek to enhance their lives through tennis education, providing at-risk youth and adults with positive role models, academic assistance and life skills that will help prevent substance abuse, violence and dropping out of school through structured neighborhood community tennis programs, fostering success and self-esteem in people with disabilities, increasing funding for Missouri valley adult and junior tennis initiatives and programs enabling expansion to meet present and future needs, and by being a resource to USTA and other service organizations that seek support and guidance in developing their own programs including tennis and that support the guiding principles of the Foundation.
With your gift contribution, we can continue providing grants and supporting programs promoting tennis and education.

The following information will help you understand our Privacy Policy and how we will handle and maintain confidential information we receive and how we fulfill our obligations to protect your privacy. "Personal Information" refers to the nonpublic financial, familial and health information obtained by the employees at the Missouri Valley Tennis Foundation. (Hereinafter referred to as "we" or "us".)

We may collect personal information to help us serve your needs, provide services and evaluate applications for grants. The Type of information we collect varies according to the services involved, and may include:
* Information we receive from you on forms (such as name, address, social security number, assets and income);
* Information about your transactions and relationships with us (such as services utilized and payment history); and
* Information regarding family relations.

We will not disclose personal information we collect to non-affiliated third parties, except as permitted or required by law. We do not sell any personal information about you to any third party. We will not disclose personal health information without your authorization, except as required or permitted by law.
Procedures to Protect Confidentiality and Security of Your Personal Information
We have procedures in place that limit access to personal information to those employees, directors and advisors who need to know such information in order to perform services or evaluate applications. We educate our employees, directors and advisors on the importance of protecting the confidentiality of the information collected.
We publish this Privacy Policy on our web site. We will update our policy and procedures where necessary to ensure that your privacy is maintained and that we conduct our business in a way that fulfills our commitment to you. If we make material changes in our Privacy Policy, we will make that information available to you, and others, through our Web site and/or other communications.

GRANT OPPORTUNITIES
The Foundation provides grants in two cycles. The two grant cycles are as follows:
Application open: Mar 1 - April 5; Decision by April 20
Application open Oct 13 - Nov 30; Decision by December 10
Organization Grant Application Guidelines:
Must be a non-profit organization.
The program should become self-sufficient by developing a means to generate its own funds. Grants are awarded annually and are generally not renewed.
Grant recipient must agree to an on-site visit and return a year-end evaluation and accountability report.
Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a grant from the Foundation.
One-half of the grant awarded will be sent upon approval. The remaining dollars will be distributed once the evaluation and accountability report has been submitted.
Organization Grant Types include:
Adult Intro to Tennis programs
Junior programs (Intro to Tennis, Team Challenge, Junior Team Tennis, etc.)
Schools (in-service and after-school programming)
Wheelchair programs and events
Adaptive programs and events
Other programs or specials events that grow and enhance the sport of tennis
Facility improvements - supplemental funding to funding received by the USTA Facility Assistance program.

Individual Grant Application Guidelines:
Need basis
The player is in good standing with the USTA Missouri Valley
Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a grant from the Foundation
Upon Grant approval, players will be asked to complete a minimum of 5 hours of community service in their local tennis community
Upon Grant approval, dollars will be disbursed once receipts are submitted.
Individual Grant Types include:
Junior team travel assistance
Participation in junior programs (Intro to Tennis, Team Challenge, Junior Team Tennis, etc.)
Player competition assistance
Tennis camp scholarships
Other individual assistance
