CTA Support Services
The USTA Midwest Section finance office is here to offer support for all the Midwest Section Community Tennis Associations. From start to finish, we assist in creating, growing and sustaining a CTA. Below you will find additional resources not mentioned in previous categories. We understand that many of our CTAs are run by volunteers who require assistance with financial information. We are here at all levels. Whether you want the information yourself or want to hire our financial team to do accounting work and tax filing for your CTA, we offer it all. If you are interested in receiving additional information or if you have any questions, please contact midwestCTAdepartment@midwest.usta.com. Our email box is checked by a consultant on a daily basis. You can also contact your local Tennis Service Representative directly.

Governance Assistance**
- 501 (c) designation
- Incorporation assistance
- Federal and State Tax ID application assistance
- By-Laws and Board of Director assistance
- Annual Report Filing
Governance Assistance begins at the set up of a CTA, but don't worry - the USTA Midwest staff can help! Often, individuals starting a nonprofit corporation turn to expensive attorneys that charge hourly for work that our office can help with for no fee. It is a simple as demystifying how easy government forms can be to complete and walking people through each step. Please note: There are no fees associated with the USTA/Midwest Section providing these services but the organization, state government or federal government may have fees that are required for completion of registrations, incorporation, etc. Finally, governance support and assistance always can be evaluated on any level with Board of Director roles, by-laws, volunteers, social media webinars, fundraising and succession planning. These are all things that the USTA Midwest helps with.
Accounting Services*
- Bookkeeping Services
- Financial Reporting
- Tax Return Preparation
Running a non-profit small business can be hard, especially if this is your part-time job or if you are a volunteer. Our goal at the Midwest Finance office is to offer financial assistance and take the critical tasks off the plate of CTAs so they can do what they do best: grassroots tennis. By offering accounting services for a low fee we do what we do best, and CTAs can grow the game.
Our Midwest accountants can work with CTAs on anything from a partnership relationship to full-on CPA reporting. Whatever level of support you are looking for, we are here to fit the need. Our first step is to have a conversation with your CTAs and any board members that would like to be a part of the process.

Payroll Services*
- Payroll processing
- Payroll tax filings Tennis Administration
Managing the day-by-day staffing and payroll becomes complex as your CTA grows. What happens when your nonprofit becomes more than volunteer-based and you hire an executive director, contract workers or coaching staff? Who will take over the state and federal tax filing and requirements? Do you keep up to date with new tax laws and how they will affect your nonprofit organization? These are all questions for you and your Board of Directors to consider as you grow in size. All Payroll services have fees through the vendor directly. Who will help you navigate which service is best for your organization? Here at the USTA Midwest, we work with many CTAs that use a variety of payroll vendors. These are the conversations we are familiar with and can guide CTAs to what product is the best based on the needs of the organization.
