Qualifying for NTRP Nationals

The NTRP National Championships are national adult tournaments that leverage the NTRP rating system as a way to create level-based competition at the 18 & over, 40 & over, and 55 & over age groups. Each year, NTRP National Champions are crowned in men’s and women’s singles and doubles at the 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0 levels in the 18 & over age group, and 3.0, 3.5, 4.0 and 4.5 in the 40 & over, and 55 & over age groups.

USTA Missouri Valley typically has one (1) NTRP National Championship spot available in each of the NTRP divisions. In order to be endorsed by the section and receive the invitation from USTA Missouri Valley, players must meet the selection criteria. [Please note, this is a National Tournament Championship, not a League Championship.]

For 18 & Over age groups:

The player who holds the top position on the 2022 USTA Missouri Valley Final Rankings lists for each division (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0 men's and women's singles and doubles) will be invited to attend the 2023 USTA National Championships as the section's representative.

For 40 & Over and 55 & Over age groups:

The player who holds the top position on the 2022 USTA Missouri Valley Final Rankings lists for each division (3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 men's and women's singles and doubles) will be invited to attend the 2023 USTA National Championships as the section's representative.

NOTE: Should there be a tie in the 2022 USTA Missouri Valley Final Rankings list in any division, the player/team with the best overall win-loss record will win the division and will be selected/invited to attend the NTRP National Championships. If the win-loss records are identical, then the player/team with the highest year-end rating will be selected.

If no players are eligible or listed on the 2022 USTA Missouri Valley Final Rankings lists, the spot may be left vacant and offered to another USTA section.

NTRP Verification:

  • Players must have received an NTRP "C"  or "T" rating in the level they wish to compete at NTRP National Championships. Self-rated players, or "A" designated players are not eligible to compete at the NTRP National Championships. Click HERE for additional information regarding eligibility and ratings requirements.
