2026 junior tournament info and updates



New Level 3 Mixed Doubles Sectional Championships

The USTA Southern Junior Competition Committee has approved a new Level 3 Closed Mixed Doubles Sectional Championships for boys and girls ages 12–18. The events will be played Nov. 21–23, 2026. Registration opens Aug. 3, 2026, at 12:00 PM CDT. The tournaments will be played at two Tennessee locations: 

Both sites will offer indoor backup facilities to ensure uninterrupted play. 

 

Tournament format 

  • Draw Size: 32 teams (64 players) 
  • Structure: Full feed-in draw 

Scoring format:

  • Best of 3 sets 
  • Match tiebreak in lieu of a third set 
  • No-ad scoring 
  • At 3–3 in a game, gender serves to gender for all points 

USTA Southern is excited to expand competitive opportunities with this Level 3 Mixed Doubles event.

2026 junior tournament changes

There will be a few changes in the 2026 USTA Level 3 Closed Junior tournaments. The Winter Closed Level 3 and Southern Closed Level 3 will now be 64 draws for all divisions.  Previously, we had a 128 draw.

The Winter Closed Level 3 from February 14-17 are at these sites (64 draw):

·       Boys’/Girls’ 12s: John Drew Tennis Center; Macon, Ga.

·       Boys’/Girls’ 14s: Westgate Tennis Center; Dothan, Ala.

·       Boys’/Girls’ 16s: Lagoon Park; Montgomery, Ala.

·       Boys’/Girls’ 18s: Eddie Floyd Tennis Center; Florence, S.C.

 

The Southern Closed Level 3 from June 4-9 are at these sites (64 draw; Southern quota will be used for selection):

·       Boys’/Girls’ 12s: Cary Tennis Park; Cary, N.C.

·       Boys’/Girls’ 14s: John Drew Tennis Center; Macon, Ga.

·       Boys’/Girls’ 16s and 18s: Mobile Tennis Center; Mobile, Ala.
