2023 ATP Finals: Ram and Salisbury repeat as doubles champions in Turin
Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury have followed their US Open three-peat with a second consecutive doubles title at the ATP Finals. The American-British pair completed a perfect 5-0 run for the second year running at the season finale in Turin, clinching the trophy Sunday with a 6-3, 6-4 final victory against Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos.
Three of their five wins came via match tiebreaks, including a 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-7 semifinal result against Santiago Gonzalez and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
“I don’t know what to say, to be honest,” Ram said after clinching a second title at the Pala Alpitour in Turin. “We love this place... To win it twice in a row is something I never would have thought of and I’m so proud of."
He later added: “I think the conditions are one thing, but we seem to be able to play some of our best tennis at the biggest events, and this is one of the biggest events we have. I think that’s also part of it. We really get up for it, we really try and peak for these ones and we’re really proud of that achievement actually.”
Ram and Salisbury's qualification for the season finale was in doubt prior to a red-hot run to close the season that began with their third straight US Open triumph. They followed that with another title in Vienna and a semifinal run at the Rolex Paris Masters before Turin, posting a 17-2 record dating back to the start of the US Open.

That finishing burst lifted Ram and Salisbury to third in the ATP doubles teams rankings, with Ram set to close the season at world No. 6, one place ahead of his teammate.
By beating Granollers and Zeballos in the final, Ram also provided an assist to his Davis Cup doubles partner Austin Krajicek. That result secured Krajicek and Croatian partner Ivan Dodig's place as the season's No. 1 doubles team. The American Krajicek will also finish the season as the doubles world No. 1, an individual honor he clinched earlier in the week.
