Reilly Opelka, Rajeev Ram & Austin Krajicek to join U.S. Davis Cup Team in Delray Beach
The United States Davis Cup Team that will compete in its second-round qualifying tie vs. Czechia on Sept. 12-13 will include new additions Reilly Opelka, Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek alongside Taylor Fritz and Frances Tiafoe. Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul, who were previously nominated, have withdrawn.
Hosted at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in Florida, this competition is a best-of-five match series that will begin with two singles matches starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, then continue with a doubles match and two more singles matches beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
The first nation between the USA and Czechia to win three out of those five matches wins the qualifier and will advance to the Davis Cup Final 8 to compete for this year’s championship, Nov. 18-23 in Bologna, Italy. Tennis Channel will carry coverage in the U.S.
Opelka competed in men's singles and mixed doubles at the 2025 US Open, falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the singles opening round. Ram reached the doubles quarterfinals with Croatia's Nikola Mektic in his 25th consecutive US Open appearance, while Krajicek exited in the men's doubles first round with Mexico's Santiago Gonzalez.
Captains may make up to three combined substitutions/additions to their rosters up until the day prior to the competition starting.
