Celebrating National Tennis Month: Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center

Over the past year, the Palm Beach Gardens center has seen tons of growth and their member count shows that, as they currently have over 1,300. These members participate in programs, leagues, tournaments, and a whole lot more.

Back in 2022, the center was home to around 25 league teams, who played recreational tennis and pickleball. This year, they have grown that number to 56 teams, forcing them to cap the amount of teams per night.

On top of leagues, tournaments have also seen an increase. The Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center has been running monthly National and International tournaments, and in the past year have seen the enrollment for these events increase drastically.

Wendy Tatum, the Director of Tennis and Pickleball at the center, is excited to continue innovating how they provide the game to their community. “We serve our entire community by offering a variety of activities and programs and are always adding and looking for new programs and events to be the leaders in the field,” she said.

To support this message, they have added additional days to their programming, giving people more opportunities to play tennis. This has been great for them as program enrollment has increased by over 40%, causing each to have a wait list.

The Palm Beach Gardens facility also has adaptive programs, including USTA Florida partner Love Serving Autism, Jamie’s Tennis Angels, Wheelchair classes, and a new Veteran program.

To help with the boom of programs this year, the center has also hired seven new pros and are still looking to add more to help teach all the new and returning players in the sport.
