Inside Florida Tennis: 2022 Fall JTT Season On the Horizon
USTA Florida is welcoming back all junior players for the 2022 Fall Junior Team Tennis (JTT) season. Following an exciting Spring 2022 season with champions from all over the state, USTA Florida is ready to do it all again.
Junior Team Tennis aims to provide kids from ages 6-18, to play on compatible teams of similar age and skill levels. With beginner all the way to advanced levels, JTT is a great program for all kids that want to get involved or stay active in the sport.
Multiple leagues across the entire state are set to begin in the upcoming weeks, with hundreds of Florida players ready to hit the courts. JTT is currently being offered in 18 different counties, and registration is still open.
USTA Florida offers leagues in the following areas:
- Alachua/Marion Counties
- Brevard County
- Broward County
- Duval/St. Johns Counties
- Escambia/Fort Walton Beach Counties
- Martin/St. Lucie Counties
- Miami-Dade County
- Orange/Seminole Counties
- Palm Beach County
- Pinellas/Hillsborough Counties
- Volusia/Flagler Counties
Leagues are starting soon, so make sure you register as quickly as possible to reserve your spot in the Fall JTT Season.
Youth tennis has been growing in the state of Florida for the past few years. In 2020, players from the age of 6-18 made up 23% of all Florida participants. Today that is up to 27% of all USTA Florida players.
USTA Florida Youth Team Play Manager Liz Spicer is thrilled to see the sport growing among the junior scene and believes it’s a great way to stay on top of your game. “Junior Team Tennis is a great way to get into the swing of things for those high school players,” Spicer said.
